Valley to Wadi: Israel’s Economic Ties With California

Monday, October 18, 2021 - 11:30

Over the past 50 years, Israel’s innovation economy has grown into a global dynamo behind robust government investment, a strong entrepreneurial culture and deep ties with outside partners. And few partners have had as much influence in elevating Israel’s technology trajectory over the past half century than California and, in particular, the Bay Area. From venture capital and startups to acquisitions and research collaboration, the economic connections between Israel and the Bay Area are unique and growing.

Join the Bay Area Council Economic Institute on Monday, October 18 from 8:00-9:00am PDT / 6:00-7:00pm IDT when we will unveil an exciting new report exploring the incredible rise of Israel’s innovation and technology economy, its deep ties with California and the Bay Area, and the value those ties produce for the state’s economy. Economic Institute Senior Director Sean Randolph will review key findings from the report in a program that features a discussion with Israel Deputy Foreign Minister Idan Roll, California Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis, Israel Innovation Authority CEO Dror Bin and California GO-Biz Senior Advisor and Director Dee Dee Myers on the future of California’s economic relationship with Israel and what can be done to ensure it continues to flourish.
