On Wednesday 11 October, I-Com – The institute for Competitiveness hosted its annual Symposium at its premises in Avenue des Arts 50, in Brussels. The 2023 symposium is titled “EU’s competitiveness formula: brainstorming ahead of 2024 elections”.
Throughout the day, during three different panel sessions, our researchers presented I-Com 2023 Study. The document provides a comprehensive state of the art of the dossiers analyzed by the Institute during this year, as well as policy food for thoughts and work in view of the following EU legislative term.
Aim of the event was to sketch a specific competitiveness agenda with the principal long-term goal of enhancing the EU’s competitiveness as well as the bloc’s sustainable economic growth and social cohesion.
Specifically, Session I titled “Policy and Innovation for a thriving EU pharma industry” focused mainly on Europe’s strategic industrial and technological dependencies. This understanding is crucial for developing policies aimed at addressing and reducing these dependencies while maintaining the natural openness of the European Union’s economy.
