The PRIME Institute (Policy Research Institute of Market Economy) is a Pakistani public policy think based in Islamabad. The Institute was founded in 2013 by Economist Ali Salman, and since 2016 has been registered with the government of Pakistan as a nonprofit trust. PRIME works to perpetually optimize Pakistan’s economic governance by creating independent and non-partisan public policy research.
PRIME’s is headquartered in the heart of Islamabad’s commercial hub, the Blue Area. The Institute is counted in the top one hundred think tanks of the Asia Pacific region, and ranked amongst the top ten in Pakistan by the Think Tank and Civil Society Program (TTCSP) Rankings of the University of Pennsylvania.
